On a recent tour through Tampa Day School with Rick Lavoie, Courtney Cairns Pastor of the Tampa Tribune noted the ample opportunity for public praise for both students and staff. This is particularly important for children who were previously not able to achieve a level of recognition at a traditional school due to a learning disability.
The tour was the opening to a day of inspiration from learning disabilities expert, Rick Lavoie. Tampa Day School sponsored Rick Lavoie to present two workshops aimed at helping teachers and parents better understand, communicate with, and motivate children with learning disabilities.
The aim of Tampa Day School is always to understand, honor, and accommodate children with learning differences, and to do it with passion (UHA!). It is obvious, when walking the halls, that they are truly achieving this and, in so doing, are helping children succeed who otherwise might not have had a chance. Every child is recognized and appreciated.
