Jenny is an experienced HR professional with extensive experience in all aspects of human resources. Jenny has a BS in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.
Jenny was most recently the Director of Human Resources at West Michigan Heart, a 300 employee specialty medical practice. Her primary responsibility for West Michigan Heart was establishing the company’s first HR department.
Jenny was VP of Human Resources at National Heritage Academies (NHA). She led all human resources functions for over 3,000 employees at fifty-two locations in five states. Among her many responsibilities were compensation and benefit design and administration, recruiting and staffing, communicating corporate values and culture, training and development, and legal compliance. NHA added nineteen locations and approximately 1,500 employees in five years while maintaining the same HR staff.
After practicing law for six years, Jenny also held a variety of human resources positions for Johnson Controls. Her most senior position was as Regional Director of Human Resources.
Jenny is married to Bruce Courtade and their family consists of one daughter, Jessica, a sophomore in high school, and Bo, their dog named after famed Michigan football coach, Bo Schembechler. As a frustrated architect who never got to practice, Jenny finds satisfaction in always having a remodeling project underway. She also enjoys volunteering with her daughter’s high school rowing team.
